Doug Drabek is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for various teams including the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, and Baltimore Orioles during his career from 1986 to 1998. He was born on July 25, 1962, in Houston, Texas.
Drabek was known for his pitching prowess and was a two-time All-Star, in 1990 and 1994. He won the National League Cy Young Award in 1990 while playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates, finishing the season with a 22-6 record and a 2.76 ERA. He also won a World Series championship with the Pirates in 1992.
Drabek was known for his durability and consistency as a pitcher, logging over 200 innings pitched in seven seasons and earning more than 10 wins in nine seasons. He retired from baseball in 1998 with a career record of 155-134 and a 3.73 ERA.
